In 2020, the internet-famous 12-foot Home Depot lawn skeleton entered the Halloween zeitgeist. Then came Costco’s rock-and-roll skeleton figurine, Trader Joe’s “yogi” skeleton planters, and even a rather, um, risqué inflatable skeleton couple. One thing’s for sure: people love skeleton decor, and it’s clear the trend isn’t dying out (pun intended) any time soon. Even IKEA’S first-ever Halloween collection has caught on, with a must-see skeleton pillow cover that lets you bring home the look on a smaller, more affordable scale.

IKEA’s 20” by 20” KUSTFYR cushion cover features three dancing skeleton illustrations, set against a black background. All look straight out of a “Monster Mash” jam sesh (a.k.a. more cute and kid-friendly than creepy), with different poses and cheery expressions. The washable linen/cotton-blend cover includes a built-in zipper to easily slip over a cushion, too, which is sold separately for $9

This pillow comes from IKEA’s 34-piece KUSTFYR Halloween line, which launched last month, starting at $2.99. While this pillow is the only skeleton-specific decor available, you can still stock up on pumpkin string lights, a ghost throw blanket, and even a festive shopping bag

Either way, IKEA’s KUSTFYR pillow (and whole KUSTFYR collection, for that matter) is perfect for getting your home into the spooky spirit, whether you’re a hardcore spooky enthusiast or just want to dip your toes into some non-kitschy Halloween decor. Not to mention, it’s substantially cheaper than a larger-than-life skeleton replica — less than $6 versus upwards of $200 — and obviously way easier to store off-season. Plus the black-and-white colors pair well with any sofa, armchair, or bedding. If you buy any new skeleton decorations this year, let it be this one.
