Update 12/6/17: the house is still on the market.
Earlier this month, we reported that an Upper East Side townhouse where Michael Jackson once lived had hit the market for a pop royalty sized price tag of $39 million. If the rumors are true, this pedigreed pad has some new owners—Keith Urban and Nicole Kidman.

Australian gossip magazine Woman’s Day reports that a source close to the Tennessee-based A-listers says Keith bought the property because Nicole wants to do theater. “Nicole is keen to do Broadway shows and get into making TV programs and New York is a much better place
for them to be than Nashville,” according to the source.

The six story townhouse was built in 1898, has 12,745 square feet and 16 rooms, seven of which are bedrooms. They’ll never be cold with ten wood burning fireplaces throughout, and the grand oak staircase and oak floors are a constant. The ground level features a secluded patio area, and there’s a spacious private roof deck with a kitchen at the other end of the property.

Hopefully, though, they got a discount; one source told the Post that it’s wildly overpriced. “[The current owner] thinks it’s beautiful, but it it is very old and tired and needs a lot of work. A lot of everything.” Perhaps the couple are good with a hammer.
