What is Dioxin? How to Avoid Toxin Dioxin
Found everywhere, dioxin is public enemy number one. To give you an idea of how common dioxin exposure is, consider bleached coffee filters. The EPA says that 40% to 70% of the dioxins contained in bleached coffee filters get transferred to your coffee. Therefore, the simple routine of using bleached coffee filters results in a lifetime of unsafe exposure to dioxin. According to the World Health Organization, dioxins are highly toxic.

10 Tips for Extending the Life of Your Washer and Dryer
The laundry area in my new home is much more compact than it was in my old rental, resulting in the purchase of a stackable washer/dryer unit. One thing I’ve encountered that I didn’t with the traditional side-by-side units is a persistent vibration during the spin cycle of the washer. After some research, I learned a few new things about proper care of my appliances that I thought were worth of sharing. 1.

“Pittsburgh Potties”: A Real & Very Mysterious Thing

NBC’s Craft Show Making It is What We All Need in 2018
Making It, hosted by Ron Swanson and Leslie Knope… I mean Nick Offerman and Amy Poehler, has received a lot of comparisons to the Great British Baking Show. And I totally get it: The hosts and judges are there for support and comic relief, not to critique contestants and bicker with one another. Making It is exactly what 2018 needs. Like Poehler says in the intro, “life is stressful enough—let’s make a show that makes you feel good.

This Pup Parent Built a ‘Dog Boudoir’ For His Rescue and the Results Are Adorable
Thanks to one awfully considerate human, we now have an official word for the canine equivalent of a man cave: a dog boudoir. When Sean Farrell rescued Buster, a 12-year-old Staffordshire Bull Terrier, he learned that the precious animal had undergone some pretty traumatic experiences that left him with a fear of being around single men. According to his owner, Buster also had a tendency to isolate himself unless in the bedroom, only coming out for food and walks.

Lowes Welcomes A Major Brand and Only Those Missing Sears Care
Growing up, I remember hitting up small-town hardware stores for quick needs like electrical tape or a pack of screws. Aerogel Becomes Affordable as a Home Insulator
Dr. Peter Tsou of NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory once said, “you could take a two- or three-bedroom house, insulate it with aerogel, and you could heat the house with a candle. Unfortunately, for the past 75 years aerogel has been way too expensive, but that’s all about to change.
