The Color That Will Reign in 2017 (There’s No Denying It)
There are a few privileges to being an editor in the design world, one of which is getting to see the future (a.k.a. what’s going to be in stores well before anyone else is privy to that information). This comes in handy when trend forecasting happens to be your sport of choice.

Wall to Wall Art, Plants & Vintage Goodness in a Quirky Cool DC Apartment
Name: Georgiana Location: Adams Morgan/Dupont Circle — Washington, D.C. I live on the 7th floor of a building built in 1923 in Adams Morgan/Dupont Circle neighborhood (I can never tell which it is), there are definitely some quirks to such an old building, the elevator for example is terrifying – a fair-weather metal box that is not built for anyone that has an aversion to elevators that may or may not work.

Before and After: An Ottoman Overhaul for Under $65
When Addison spotted a piece she’d been lusting after at a thrift store, she knew she had to have it. After snatching up the large ottoman of her dreams, she decided to put her extra cash towards spiffing it up a bit. I got this square ottoman for $20 from a thrift store. This ottoman was still structurally sound but need new fabric. Other ottomans this size can go for upwards of $500 so I was super happy to find this for so cheap at a thrift store! The ottoman is 37 inches by 37 inches.

The Secret to Effective Small Spaces, as Proven by Nancy’s Tiny New York Bathroom
My little bathroom is one of the things I love most about my little New York apartment, but unfortunately, it does not have much in the way of storage. As someone very devoted to the idea of order, if not always the practice of it, this troubles me a great deal, and so I’ve come up with a few solutions that allow me to fit a whole bathroom’s worth of things into my small, storage-challenged space, all (mostly) out of sight.

Pink Bathrooms Pretty Enough to Make You Blush
Few things in the world of decorating are more controversial than the pink bathroom. And now there’s a whole new generation of pink bathrooms — and they’re anything but frilly and froufrou. Say hello to the sophisticated new pink bathroom.

5 Cleaning Products that Make Me Feel Like a Fancy Lady When I Buy Them
At the grocery store, I’m the queen of store brands. I don’t have such discerning taste that the Publix-brand paprika or yogurt seems any lesser-tasting than the name brand on the shelf with a higher price on the label. (And you know that often the store brands are exactly the same as the name brand, right?) But there ARE times when I’m willing to splurge. It doesn’t only have to do with quality—although that’s certainly a part of it.

In a survey of over 1,000 Americans, the team at Next Day Blinds found that the #1 home trend of 2017 was “Modern Farmhouse” with one-third of respondents listing this as their favorite style. So what exactly is this style? Short answer: think Fixer Upper.
