Yvonne and Michael were undaunted by the amount of work needed to renovate this 1940s-era house that came with a bland palette of browns and beiges.

New builds can be pretty characterless, but Kate used color and texture to add style to her small UK home. “All you need is a bit of imagination and want to give things a try.”

This family calls their home’s style “colorful minimalism,” and it’s incredibly cheerful.

“We’re both creative souls, and this house has become a canvas for our combined style,” homeowner Amanda Oleri says.

“Queer spaces are disappearing, particularly spaces for queer women,” Hannah says. “So we realized these spaces can also exist within our homes.”
