Their home has quickly been transformed into an inviting and cozy dwelling. Jessica is an interior designer and founder of Nest Studio.

Name: Jevon Lake Location: Central Phoenix, Arizona Size: 950 square feet Years lived in: 5 years; Owned When Jevon was hunting for a home five years ago, his agents brought him to a unit in a Mid-century condominium community. The unit was a slow moving project by a local designer, not yet on the market, and Jevon immediately fell in love with it. A deal was struck and Jevon lived in a hotel for about a month, while consulting on the finished design.

Name: Antonia and Cinzia Nespoli Location: Notting Hill; London, United Kingdom Size: 1,115 square feet Years lived in: 4 years; owned For Antonia and Cinzia, sisters and Italian transplants to London, the concept of home is an important one. Both have busy careers and hectic social lives, despite being self-described homebodies.

Name: Dai, Polly, Minnie & Rosie Hughes Location: Crackington Haven, North Cornwall Size: 3 bedrooms Years lived in: 3, owned Polly and Dai’s colourful cottage in Cornwall is just a short walk to the rugged cliffs and sandy beach at Crackington Haven. The couple moved to this idyllic spot three years ago when their twin daughters, Minnie and Rosie, were babies.

Name: Tim Rodgers Location: Canal North; Phoenix, Arizona Size: 2,200 square feet Years lived in: 1 year; Owned In 2011, the Meadowbrook Residence, built and designed by Jay Atherton and Cy Keener, was on the cover of Dwell. It received quite a bit of attention from local and national media outlets. The two young architects lived and worked out of the house. The images from Dwell show an incredibly sparse, utilitarian space and aesthetic.

Name: Dan Horton, audio engineer & Sarah Prowse, kinesiologist Location: Kawartha Lakes, Ontario, Canada Size: 7 bedrooms, 5,000 square feet Years lived in: 4 months; owned When kinesiologist Sarah Prowse and audio engineer Dan Horton were ready to take the leap from their rented loft to purchasing their first house together, they discovered that affordable homes in good condition are few and far between in Toronto’s hot real estate market.

Name: Meg and Steve Gardner Location: Toronto, Canada Size: 1650 square feet + basement Years lived in: 10.5 years; owned Meg and Steve bought their first house in 2003. Ten years and three kids later, it was time to give the family home a facelift.

Set atop a quiet hillside, Erin and Nathan have lovingly crafted a home that reflects their creative and hardworking personalities.

Name: Robert Onderdonk & Gregory Roth Location: Toronto, Canada Size: 1270 square feet Years lived in: 10 months, owned This sky high condo is as custom-made as they come. While gutting a brand-new home may seem like a surprising choice to some, Greg and Rob were so dissatisfied with their builder-quality basics that they knew it had to be done as soon as they moved in.

Name: Whitney Leigh Morris, Graphic Designer, and Adam Winkleman Location: Canals, Venice Beach, California Size: 362 square feet (interior) Years lived in: 2.5 years; Rented Etc: Built in 1924. One of two original craftsman-style cottages on the lot. You may remember this beautifully renovated cottage from Whitney’s House Call. I was brought in to do a full tour of their space, and I was certainly not disappointed. Whitney and Adam have made living in a small space look like a breeze.

Name: Gregory Beauchamp and Jenny Corgan Location: Venice, California Size: 1,200 square feet Years lived in: 3+ years; Rented If the Brady Brunch could redecorate their house in a cooler, fresher way, I imagine it would look something like this. Gregory, a creative director/artist, and Jenny, a co-owner of Principessa on Abbott Kinney, share this cozy bungalow near Venice Beach.

Name: Emma, Mike, and baby River Fusco-Straub Location: Prospect Lefferts Garden, Brooklyn, New York Size: Three-story limestone house Years lived in: 4 years; owned Emma Straub and Mike Fusco are quite a dynamic duo. Emma is an acclaimed novelist, and Mike creates stunning graphic design. Emma, Mike, and their Brooklyn home are creative, warm, and down to earth.

Name: Heather and Jeff LaHaise Location: Wales Garden; Columbia, South Carolina Size: 2,600 square feet Years lived in: 6 years; Owned Heather and Jeff LaHaise, along with their son Walker (a high school freshman) and dogs Charlotte and Teeny, are surrounded by art. Heather is an artist herself, and her appreciation for art and design shows in every room. The LaHaise family uses every inch of their 2,600 square foot home, built in 1920 and revamped for a modern lifestyle.

Name: Adam Wallacavage Location: South Philadelphia, Pennsylvania Size: 3000 square feet Years Lived In: 13; Owned Stepping inside Adam’s home is akin to stepping inside a set designer’s brain. Everywhere you look, it’s a creative smorgasbord for the eyes. But what makes this place even more spectacular is the fact that Adam’s home is composed of his own creations, most of which he crafted with his own two hands.

Name: Grainne, Ian, Tait, and Otto Location: Edinburgh; Scotland Size: 4 Bedroom Edwardian Terrace Years lived in: 8 years; Owned The moment Grainne and Ian clapped eyes on this 1910 Edwardian terraced house, they knew it was the family home they had been waiting for.

Before she got her hands on it, she says it was a bachelor pad, with occasional traces of the ghosts of girlfriends past. As the owner of Haute Street, a fashion styling and consulting business, Joey practices what she preaches, and she has the client list to prove it.

Name: Noah Marion of Noah Marion Quality Goods Location: Travis Heights; Austin, Texas Size: 1250 square feet Years lived in: 4 years; Rented Full of light, warm woods, colorful art, and an enviable collection of timeless and classic accessories arranged into lovely vignettes, Noah Marion’s South Austin home is a lesson in how to collect well-designed objects for a rich, meaningful home without the clutter.

Name: Designer Allison Burke, with architect husband Ryan and hound dog Blue Jay Location: French Place/Cherrywood; Austin, Texas Size: 1600 square feet Years lived in: 3.5 years; Owned Allison Burke is a designer with 13 years of experience in high-end residential, small scale commercial and craft-driven interiors. It’s not surprising the home she shares with her architect husband is a modern mix of white walls, pops of color and purposeful accessories.

Name: Kristen Harper and Michelle Flores, owners of the Remodeling Boutique, (and some outside cats named Mr. Cat, Mrs. Kitty and Stinky) Location: East Side; Austin, Texas Size: 952 square feet Years lived in: 2 years; Owned How do you create a rich, layered, personalized home in a tiny space and without a lot of money? If you’re Kristen Harper and Michelle Flores, you combine killer style, fearless DIY skills and a healthy mix of vintage finds and modern furnishings.

Name: Lori LaMont and Monte Weiss Location: Belmont Heights – Long Beach, California Size: 1,400 square feet Years lived in: 2 years; Own Lori and Monte live on the top floor of the duplex building that they own. Just mere blocks from the beach, they enjoy an incredibly sunny and well decorated home. Their gorgeous flat is layered with Lori’s paintings, modern fixtures and vintage pieces.

Name: Kristen Coates & Chris Wyllie Location: Newport Harbor, Rhode Island Size: 34′ Houseboat Years lived in: 18 months; owned It all started with a wildly imaginative dream, sketched on a cocktail napkin one summer night in 2011. Chris and Kristen wanted to design a boat to use as a creative outlet and a place for entertaining summer guests. Never mind the fact that neither had experience with boat building.

Name: Vanessa Dingwell Location: Eagle Rock, California Size: 2000 square feet Years Lived In: 2; Rented High on a hill, surrounded by dreamy California vistas, is Vanessa’s laid back bohemian home. With its sunny, sexy, romantic, and eclectic vibe, Stevie Nicks and Janis Joplin would feel right at home here. In fact, Vanessa owns Honeywood Vintage, a vintage clothing shop specializing in ethnic and cultural textiles that is slated to open in Highland Park next month.

Name: Briana Babani and Dominic Cancilla Location: North Loop; Austin, Texas Size: 1050 square feet Years lived in: Rented 1.5 years Artist Briana Babani and her husband Dominic had to tackle two of the biggest challenges renters face. One: how to combine the homes of two furniture lovers (recently married) and two: how to make a home with a stylish previous owner and very distinctive bones look like you.

Name: Annah Zafrani – SVP Media Promotions, Universal Pictures & Co-owner of Loren Stewart, and Benny Zafrani – Owner of Honeydew Intimates Location: Valley Village — Los Angeles, California Size: 2,500 square feet Years lived in: 11 years When Annah and Benny decided to start a family, they also decided to move to the Valley into a family-friendly neighborhood. They found a new home with a great floor plan with a logical flow, located on a quiet tree lined street.

While this might discourage most home buyers, Jenna and Jeremy leaped at the challenge. And now, finally, the fruits of their labors are blooming into a beautiful, welcoming home.

They had been living in a gorgeous modern home we featured on Apartment Therapy last year, and purchased this 1927 bungalow with the intention of flipping it.

Name: Katharine & James Howard (and daughter Amelie, 1 year) Location: South London, United Kingdom Size: 1600 square feet Years lived in: Owned; 2 years Before I ever set foot in Katharine and James’ south London home, I knew that it would be beautifully designed to the last detail.

Name: Caroline and Jose Vasquez-Corbalan of Paloma’s Nest Location: Austin Texas Size: 1,000 square feet plus 600 square feet of studio/office space in the back. Years lived in: 10 years Caroline and Jose embody the true spirit of creativity. They spent their first date drawing furniture design ideas on the back of their dinner napkins — after realizing they both shared the same dream of wanting to make things for a living.

Lori and Ken’s home was featured here on Apartment Therapy in 2009 and four years later, the space is more elegant and creative than ever. As an established photographer and interior designer (Ken has his own investment firm), Lori uses her home as a canvas for her work and ideas. However, these aesthetic changes didn’t happen overnight, says Lori: “It has taken us ten years to get the house we really wanted, as we have to budget and save for every additional piece.

All of the projects are custom, designed by Scuba, and typically built by his roommate, Jeremy. Scuba’s passion for life and travel is obvious in every corner of his home.

I was blown away by the cultured aesthetic and attention to detail. When I met Adrianna in person, her fun personality matched the aesthetic and I couldn’t believe that this was her first try at interior design.

What do you know, I was right!

An accomplished artist and teacher, he brings a classic, timeless look to a very old home with beautiful bones.

Name: Adir Abergel and Marcello Freire Location: Mar Vista – Los Angeles, California Size: 1600 square feet Years lived in: 5 years Adir and Marcello’s home truly feels like a getaway retreat. The entire living room opens up to a fantastic outdoor area with intimate seating and hot tub. It is no surprise that they love to entertain and often stay at home versus leaving their very inviting house. Adir and Marcello’s collection of artwork is incredible.
