Although just a rental, Devin and Jess have put their stamp on their 1970s bungalow in Portland, Oregon.

These first-time homeowners worked with pros to renovate a worn-down Brooklyn house originally built in 1910

Eishi describes this home’s style as colorful, silly, and fun. “It’s definitely a bit over the top, which we love, and it definitely cheers us up and lifts our mood.”

At first glance, this home might appear to be maximalist, but the style is actually more of a reflection of the family. There’s a fry-themed room, a skateboard bedroom, and plenty of other personal touches.

Interior designer Molly Sellers has always been a bargain hunter, and describes her style as eclectic, but says she works to make her home feel luxurious on a budget.

“Nothing brings me more joy than getting to create in this house. My pets have even been thriving since moving here,” renter Kalianna Carpenter says.

The built-in planter in the entryway was a huge draw for Lauren and Mark, who got a friend to add a vintage mural, too.

For the last three years, this couple has painstakingly renovated every single room in this house “from drywall to entirely rebuilding rooms and spaces to thoroughly reflect our personalities.”

Stuart Eminson; his partner, Steve; and Rollo the dog have only owned this house for 18 months, but they've totally transformed it by drenching rooms with dark and moody paint colors and decorating with vintage finds.

“When you walk into historic buildings, they feel like they have a soul, and ultimately, that's what I want for our home,” homeowner Amber Northcutt says.
