Podcast Host Becca Freeman needed to find a creative display and storage solution for her books, and a gorgeous custom bookcase from Soil and Oak was just the right fit.

The apartment is 100-years-old (built in 1921 according to city records) and has a ton of quirky older features that are beautifully preserved and classic old-San Francisco, including an original brass bell buzzer (that still works!), a beautiful built-in cooling cabinet, real wood floors, high ceilings, and gorgeous bay windows.

The biggest challenge was mastering the layout of a studio apartment and figuring out my storage situation. Using underbed storage for cameras, photo supplies, and out-of-season clothing saved the day!

Architecture and landscape architecture graduate student Caleb Brackney bought a 36’ 1995 Thomas International school bus on Facebook Marketplace in February 2020 for $3K. The rest of his only 10k budget he spent on turning the bus to a tiny house one wheels.

In my ongoing role as plant mom of @cubehousejungle (with 100+ plants), I’ve learned a lot through hands-on experience, with much of it being trial and error. Here are several plant care tips I discovered along the way that I wish I had known earlier on.
