You don’t need me to tell you that Black Friday is basically the Olympics of shopping. You might’ve held back on buying too many new items this year, but now that retailers are hosting their biggest sales of 2024, it’s time to go all out. You obviously want to grab everything you can at a discount, whether you need new kitchen organizers or holiday gifts for loved ones. But this is obviously the prime time to spring for big-ticket items, like furniture.

If you’re on the hunt for a new sofa, you’re in luck. I just so happen to test them for AT’s Personal Shopper series, in which I visit the brick-and-mortar stores of all your favorite home retailers. Even better still, a few of the sofas I’ve seen in person are on sale this Black Friday & Cyber Monday, including models from West Elm, Burrow, Pottery Barn, Wayfair, and other popular brands.

Below, you’ll find 13 sofas, sleepers, and sectionals that come highly recommended by yours truly, all currently selling at discounted prices. There’s something for every lifestyle and budget, so just be sure to grab your desired model and colorway while it’s still in stock.

Burrow
$1119.00
was $1399.00

Burrow’s modular Range sofa is eye-catching thanks to its unique design, performance fabric upholstery, and customizable leg options that add a touch of elegance to any space. Another bonus: You can add pieces as you go for a sofa that grows with you and your space. Our favorite part about this sofa, however, is the support — so if you’re looking for a sofa that’ll really align (and support you throughout your entire 9-to-5 WFH shift), this is the one.

West Elm
$1889.30
was $2599.00

With its long back cushions and bench-style seat, West Elm’s Shelter Queen sleeper feels more like a luxurious daybed than an everyday couch. It’s no wonder I deemed it the best sleeper I’ve tested. You’d never guess that it conceals a queen-size mattress! The sofa’s firm seat makes it a great spot if you work from home, but I still rated it highly in terms of nappability. Basically, this find lets you have it all.

CB2
$3314.00
was $3899.00

I actually tested the shorter version of the 105-inch Rodez sofa from CB2, but this option is better for homes with some extra square footage to spare. It has a firm seat, luxurious leather upholstery that’s soft to the touch, and a low profile. The Rodez is a solid pick for any home with an artsy, somewhat industrial aesthetic.

Wayfair
$999.00
was $1500.00

If you're feeling bougie on a budget, we have just the fix: the Geo upholstered sofa, specifically in velvet. The sofa manages to look fashion-forward despite its classic design, and its tufted seat cushions will instantly add a dose of glamour to your surroundings. Deputy Commerce Editor Alicia tested it in Wayfair’s physical store, noting that it’s easy to clean, supremely comfortable, and perfect for lazy weekends.

Pottery Barn
$1759.00
was $2199.00

The focal point of Pottery Barn’s Balboa model is its barrel-style back, which curves around the entire length of the sofa, flowing into the arms for a seamless appearance. It has an overall cozy appeal thanks to this traditional touch, though you can make it more modern with your choice of fabric. You’ll also be happy to learn that the Balboa is available in three sizes, so you can customize it to your exact living room layout.

Blu Dot
$2237.00
was $3195.00

This sectional’s seats were firmer than I expected them to be, but I still deemed it Blu Dot’s best sofa for socializing because of its angled silhouette. This feature allows you to chat with friends from a comfortable position instead of being awkwardly seated right next to them and having to crane your neck. The sofa also featurers a statement-making geometric shape that further sets it apart from your standard L-shaped sectional.

Raymour & Flanigan
$1259.95
was $1399.95

Raymour & Flanigan makes it a point to offer most of its sofas and chairs in easy-care fabrics, and that includes the Mirasol sofa. This mid-century stunner is available in 30 colors, so you can truly tailor it to your space. I also love this stylish model’s button tufted back cushions and padded arms, which practically double as pillows.

Burrow
$1879.00
was $2499.00

One of Burrow’s newest releases, the Ember sectional is, of course, modular, but you were already expecting that. Its seats are very wide, as is its chaise, meaning you have plenty of space to spread out. The sectional also comes in four gorgeous performance chenille upholstery colors. Months after seeing the sofa in-store, I’m still thinking about the seaglass fabric swatch a store manager showed me.

Wayfair
$2299.00
was $3082.00

Despite being on sale at Wayfair, the Sigma bubble sofa looks “straight out of CB2,” according to Alicia. She praised its modular design and low profile, as well as the fact that its cushions are made from a mix of high-density foam and inner springs, which help with back support. The Sigma is still available in a beautiful ivory boucle fabric that'll instantly elevate your living space.

West Elm
$909.30
was $1199.00

At just 60 inches wide and 35 inches deep, West Elm’s Andes sofa comes in truly pint-size proportions. I love that you can customize the sofa to your space and style — the number of made-to-order fabric options is impressive. The Andes also boasts tall legs, which not only give it a vintage vibe, but also allow for storage space underneath. What’s more, you have a choice between two seat depths, so you can choose just how loungey you want your sofa to feel.

Raymour & Flanigan
$2159.95
was $2399.95

I was happy to find some of Raymour & Flanigan’s power-reclining sofas on sale, including the Enbright sectional. Not only does this pick boast infinite reclining positions, but its chaise also doubles as a storage compartment. Simply pull on the tab to lift the chaise, and you’re met with a roomy trunk that can hold pillows and blankets. The sectional also has two built-in USB ports, so you can charge your phone without having to leave your seat.

12 / 13
Pottery Barn
$1359.00
was $1699.00

The Carmel sofa instantly caught my eye when I visited Pottery Barn’s showroom because of its deep seats and relaxed yet supportive back incline. It's available in six different widths, so whether you're working with no space or all the space, it’s a great pick. This is especially true if you’re looking for a sofa that lends some coastal charm, which the Carmel has in spades.

Burrow
$1579.00
was $2099.00

One of the most exciting launches of the year was Burrow’s Shift sleeper. The Shift is ideal for your office or spare room, as it provides some extra seating and doubles as an overnight crash pad for guests. Simply unfold the bench-style seat to reveal a queen-size sleep surface, and place your bedding on top. The sofa's side cushions also unzip to be used as sleep pillows!
