In order to partake in the bulk shopping experience that includes in-store samples and hoards of savings on toilet tissue, freshly made sushi, wine, clothing, electronics and basically anything you else you can think of, you have to spend a little bit of cash. Those who hold a Costco membership already know what we’re talking about, and now those who want to join the club can do so with this Groupon bargain.

The deal includes a one-year new Costco Gold Star Membership plus a $20 shop card and coupons for $60, the normal price of the annual membership. Groupon values its deal at $148.98, which is slightly more than the $120 you’d pay for a Costco executive plan.

The Gold membership deal includes:

  • A One-Year Costco Gold Star Membership, which includes a membership card for the Primary Cardholder and one additional Household Card for anyone over the age of 18 and living at the same address.
  • A $20 Costco Shop Card (gift card is valid towards any purchase, including gas)
  • Exclusive coupons for the following products ($68.98 value*)
  • Free Kirkland Signature Ultra Clean HE Laundry Detergent Pacs ($17.99 value)
  • Free Kirkland Signature Create-a-Size® Paper Towels ($15.99 value)
  • $10 off fresh meat (beef, chicken, pork, or fish; excludes deli items)
  • $25 off an order of $250+ on Costco.com

The membership package deal is for a limited time and applies to new members and anyone whose membership expired prior to May 1, 2019. Applicants must sign up for auto renewal with a Visa card in order to receive the incentives. The offer is valid at all US stores.

Previously we compiled a list of tips for shopping at Costco without a membership, but this deal promises to help new members save on gas and home products. Considering the fact that those are, purchases most of us routinely make anyway, it may be worth skipping the hacks (for now) and making a full-time commitment to Costco shopping.
