House Calls

Name: Leslie Location: Hyde Park — Austin, Texas My apartment is wholly imperfect. It has full brick walls, a beige-everywhere approach, and our bedroom doesn’t have a proper door. We chose it mostly for location. The neighborhood can’t be beat with quiet, tree-lined streets and our favorite Tex-mex restaurant is two blocks away, next to an out-of-this-world bakery. Decorating this home has been a challenge and a joy.

Name: Mark Location: Pleasure Point —Santa Cruz, California I am a professional surfer who is constantly traveling so I recently decided to sell my family home to find a smaller space with less overhead. I luckily found a 1959 Broadmore mobile home right around the corner from my family home! It sits in a mobile home park that I honestly never paid much attention too but drove by every day for my whole life. It was actually the cheapest place for sale within a hundred miles of my house.

Name: Anna Location: Lakeview — Chicago, Illinois I live in a small studio apartment (350 square feet) in the Lakeview neighborhood of Chicago. I’m actually right on the border between Lakeview and Lincoln park, which is a popular location for 20-somethings who have recently moved to the city (I’m 25) which is nice because all of my friends live a few blocks away.

Name: Chelsea Location: Nashville, Tennessee My husband Jared and I live with our cat, Albert, in a quaint neighborhood called Germantown in Nashville, TN. We live in a building that was once a canvas bag factory. Our apartment is about 1,100 square feet, including our lofted space. We chose to live in Germantown because we were moving from Boston, Massachusetts to Nashville, Tennessee and wanted to maintain a similar metropolitan, historic feel in our neighborhood and home.

Name: Edmund Location: Montreal-West, Quebec, Canada Just over two years ago, we moved out of our hip 1,000 square foot downtown Montreal loft and into our three-bedroom house in Montreal-West (a suburb just outside of the city) in order to start a family. Not working with a gigantic budget, we really expected to have to compromise in order to upgrade in size. To our surprise, we happened upon an incredibly unique house with an interesting history that we instantly fell in love with.

Name: Irwin Location: Washington, D.C. I live in The General Scott in Washington, DC. The building was built in 1941 in the Art Deco style. After renting for almost 8 years, I finally bought my condo from the owner in 2014. Kitchen renovation was completed in 2015. My unit is a junior one bedroom and is about 495 square feet.

Name: Jenn Location: Goleta, California Ten years after I fell in love with Santa Barbara, my husband and I managed to scrape together enough to buy a home in the area. However the home we could afford had been abandoned for 10 years, when we moved in there were no doorknobs, no light fixtures, and the property was covered in shoulder-high weeds.

Name: Michelle Location: Brookland — Washington, D.C. My husband and I fully gutted and renovated our home in 2014. The house was built in the 1920s and is 4 square style. We have an open concept home and every space is fully functional for our casual living lifestyle. I am inspired by Scandi, boho, mid century design. Although our bedroom is our favorite room; we especially love our DIY kitchen concrete counter tops, our master bath tile and custom built double vanity we designed.

Name: Mary Location: Atlanta, Georgia I’ve come to nickname my house the Coucou Home, a tribute to the French word for “hello” that you might say to someone you know. And that’s the thing about my little “corner of the universe”; it’s comforting and welcomes people into my world. When I moved into my house, a renovated industrial space that was once a linen factory, the first thing I tackled was where to put my massive collection of signed books.

Name: Erin Location: Tangletown — Minneapolis, Minnesota My husband, Ken, and I purchased our 1934 Tudor-style home in July 2015 and spent late summer and fall last year renovating much of the house. My background is interior design, but I’m currently a freelance writer and DIY blogger at francoisetmoi.com. Ken manages commercial construction projects, so naturally we were looking for a project to sink our teeth into with our first home.

Name: Madeleine & Kihan Location: Capitol Hill — Seattle, Washington Our two bedroom, one bath, 1100-square foot apartment is located in Seattle’s Capitol Hill neighborhood in a building built in 1903. Our neighbors and friends Becky and Andrew were recently featured on Apartment Therapy, and live 2 floors up, so we have the exact same layout—which I thought might be an interesting feature to see. Recently, the entire apartment was shot by friend and studio mate Rafael Soldi.

Name: Jennifer Location: Lincoln, Nebraska After years of searching for just the right home for our family, we were fortunate to find our 1925 craftsman that had fantastic bones and needed just a bit of love in some of the more neglected spaces. We completely updated the kitchen, bathrooms, added two full bathrooms, fully finished the 1,800 square foot basement, and added a number of built-ins throughout the house.

Name: Alison Location: Redfern — Sydney, Australia My cozy 49 square meter/ 527 square feet apartment is above a shop on one of the busiest roads in Redfern. I bought the unit in 2012, it was going cheap as the previous owners had done bad makeshift renovations, painted it an awful blue and managed to have about 6 people living in it.

Name: Sarah Location: St-Henri — Montreal, Canada We wanted to prove that two people can easily live in a 485 square feet space, so we bought a wonderful industrial open loft located in St-Henri neighborhood, Montreal. Our space used to be a cigarette factory in the early 1900s and it was transformed into apartments a few years ago.

Name: Isabel Location: Mexico City, Mexico I invite you to enter the house of a diplomat! This isn’t the house of Madeleine Albright or a high-brow diplomat, but rather the house of mid-level Foreign Service Officer. Our lives are unique – every three years we move to a different country, into houses we don’t choose. We normally have a weight limit and like other renters, have limits on what we can do to a home. These are photos of our current house in Mexico City.

Name: Kristen Location: Nob Hill — Portland, Oregon Located in a cute neighborhood in Northwest Portland’s trendy and walkable Nob Hill, my 1100-square-foot condo is a modern space inspired by my passion for graphic design. As an art director and graphic designer for Nike, I am constantly inspired by my travels around the world, and have peppered my living space with items collected along my journey.

Name: Mara Location: Evanston, Illinois I bought my condo in June 2014. I chose Evanston because I wanted to be close to the lake, close to Chicago, and love the character of the older brick buildings. This is my first non-college living space that I can decorate and experiment with completely on my own. I’ve done a lot of updates and made some changes from paint to decor and documented everything on my blog. My style is a mix of mid-century modern and modern glam.

Name: Emily & Erica Location: Armory District — Providence, Rhode Island Our home is a 1850s gothic revival (circa 1900) in the armory district on the west side of Providence, Rhode Island—an area we love with lots of historic architecture and great food options within walking distance. We live here with our two terrible-adorable dogs, Kevin & Sally.

Name: Susanna-Cole Location: Baltimore, Maryland I was nineteen, in a dead-end job, daydreaming at a desk dusk to midnight – of seeing the world, instead of fluorescent strips of yellowed, artificial light tattooed under my eyelids, as I drifted to sleep.

Name: Erin Location: Downtown — Los Angeles, California Mehmet Bozatli and Erin Eisinger say that despite their strong personalities, they find a natural harmony when collaborating — which they do often. Both work in the creative industries (he as an architect and developer, Erin as an interaction and service designer), and they co-founded their first joint venture —FourByNorth Studios— in Istanbul, Turkey, nearly six years ago.

Name: Nicole Location: East Downtown — Albuquerque, New Mexico Located in the former Main Hall of the historic 1914 built Albuquerque High School, this loft apartment occupies a former administration room. As a designer, the architecture, detail and character of the campus drew me in, and the space itself provides a perfect canvas for creativity. Three things that inspire me are light, life, and color.

Name: Molly Location: Austin, Texas My apartment is a tiny (500 square foot) one bedroom in the heart of my favorite neighborhood in Austin. I made location my priority during my apartment search, so I sacrificed a few things like size and amenities. This apartment has been a true testament to the idea that you can make any space a home with the right furnishings, art, and embarrassing amount of tchotchkes. My home is a happy place for me.

Name: Lesley Location: Pasadena, California I’m an interior stylist and art director in Pasadena, California (soon to be in Waco, Texas). My current apartment is a cute little 750 square feet space that I share with my PhD student husband and adorable toddler son. As a designer, my strength is curating existing elements and arranging them from a unique design perspective so the whole becomes greater than the sum of its parts.

Name: Ashlee Location: Roscoe Village — Chicago, Illinois I want to submit my apartment because I’m freaking obsessed with it. It’s a 2-bed unit in an old turn-of-the-century smokehouse in Roscoe Village. My landlord lives in the front unit and is the former drummer for 90’s power pop band, Material Issue, and he’s always plodding around doing cool things to the building.

Name: Yolandi Location: Johannesburg, South Africa After returning from a six month sabbatical from our busy lives in Johannesburg, South Africa, about four years ago, my husband & I were looking for a place with a little garden. The idea was to find a spot where we could live for six months or a year until we found our first ‘grown up home’. The über convenient location of this second floor, 180m² (1,937 square feet) corner apartment is a big plus.

Name: Madeleine Location: Elizabeth — Charlotte, North Carolina I live in the guesthouse of a house in Charlotte, North Carolina. The space is only 423 square feet – but it’s a big 423 square feet. Curated with items that I’ve collected over the years – my tiny one bedroom apartment puts a giant proud mama type of grin on my face. I exclaimed “YES!

Name: Holly & Ryan Location: Peterborough — Ontario, Canada With the support of my husband Ryan, we are raising our two daughters and German Shepherd Dublin in a 1300 square feet bungalow. I grew up in Peterborough and two years ago we moved back to be closer to our families. I am an artist and work from my studio located in our basement. My husband commutes to Toronto and works from home part-time. When we saw this house we knew it was the one for us.

Name: Mel Location: Carroll Gardens — Brooklyn, New York My boyfriend Shant and I moved into our one bedroom apartment a year ago after living separately in two very different spaces. He was in a two bedroom (same building as we live in now), and I was in a one bedroom in Williamsburg, Brooklyn.

Apartment Therapy gets amazing submissions of beautiful homes from readers around the world through our House Tour and House Call submission form. And every now and then, we get a submission that is a little unusual but totally worth showing off. I was stopped in my tracks when I spotted this submission by Will Feher a few months ago. To say this guy is an expert at collecting things — and displaying them — is an understatement!

Name: Paul Location: East Village — New York, New York In a pink building nestled on the only quiet street in the East Village neighborhood of New York City, Paul lives in a 650 square foot, one bedroom apartment that blends modern, music, surf, street art and wanderlust in a way that is both inviting and aspirational. His style combines vintage design with different materials and imagery that lets him feel comfortable while providing a sense of excitement.

Name: Caryn Location: Santa Cruz, California In 2005, my husband and I bought a very small 1000 square foot house in Santa Cruz, California to raise our growing family. Proximity to the ocean and a great elementary school trumped our desire for square footage! Our little Santa Cruz bungalow had no unique architecture, so I viewed it as a blank canvas.

Name: Meg Location: Logan Square — Chicago, Illinois Last year my boyfriend and I scored a Memphis Design Group exhibit poster at a garage sale down the street for $7. I’d been wanting to do an ’80s apartment for ages, but never pulled the trigger (I was getting my design fix through my blog). Neal was on board and began to make a copy of our favorite Memphis pendant lamp, “The Santa Fe” by Matteo Thun, out of balsa wood and an IKEA lamp cord. Thanks, Meg!

Name: Cindy Location: Marrakesh, Morocco I am a Southern Girl Gone Global. I loved my home in Nashville; but when my children left the nest, I decided to fly away, too. And landed in Africa. I enjoy Marrakesh—a multicultural, mysterious mesh of Arab, Berber, and French influences in kaleidoscope colors. Here I teach English and write about my adventures on four continents. Living abroad means living light because one day I’ll go home toting the same four suitcases I brought.

Name: Julie Location: Palmerston North, New Zealand I absolutely love my home. After traveling around the world with hubby and two small kids and living in Ireland and England we moved back to my hometown into this cute little 1920s art deco home. It’s little at only 140 square meters (1500 square feet), IT WORKS PERFECTLY for our growing family and everyone has their own space. It’s also a sun trap and cosy in winter with our wood burner.

Name: Sofia Location: Stockholm, Sweden We live in a white Art Nouveau house from 1907 in Stockholm. It’s drafty and high maintenance, but we adore it! In my profession as an Interior Decorator (Tretow Deco) this house provides me with all the creative challenge I need – I constantly move things around and create little vignettes, it’s my favorite thing! The style is very Scandinavian and classical with a bohemian/rustic touch.

Name: Annie Location: Brooklyn, New York I just moved to Brooklyn after 10 years in Los Angeles, a cabin in Colorado, and a few years of wandering. My belongings sat in storage for almost two years before moving here. When I finally did open up that locker, I purged so much. It has been so refreshing to only hold onto to the things I really love and start over. My space has three tiny bedrooms and one shared living space.

Name: Kristy Location: Morningside — Edina, Minnesota We bought our 1928 Dutch Colonial home about five years ago. We were relocating back to the Twin Cities from Boston and I was five months pregnant with our son, Harrison. The moment that I stepped foot into the house and saw light pouring in through the living room windows, I knew this was our home. All the great built-ins further sealed the deal.

Name: Bryan Location: Gateway District — Cleveland, Ohio My partner and I recently moved to Downtown Cleveland from San Francisco—my partner had a job opportunity that we simply couldn’t turn down. All of our San Francisco friends thought we were crazy. We were just excited to experience seasons and to stop paying apartment rents that were verging on the criminal.

Name: Anna Location: Oak Park, Illinois For a few long months after I moved into my apartment last winter, I dreaded coming home each night. I’d just lost a spacious dream apartment in a devastating breakup. I’d lost the sunny windows and the working fireplace. And I’d lost the man I’d planned to come home to for the rest of my life. “I live here now,” I repeated aloud as I paced the short hallway between my new living room and bedroom.

Name: Margaux Location: Echo Park — Los Angeles, California We have a beautiful sun filled apartment in Echo Park, LA. The house itself is an Arts and Crafts/Craftsman bungalow type, originally built as a triplex in a historic neighborhood full of beautiful old Victorians and Arts and Crafts homes.

Name: Heather Location: Clerkenwell — London, England I moved to London with a few suitcases of clothes and not one home item. I thought it would be fun to start over, as designing my own places have been fun projects and my style evolves quickly. I was looking for charm and character and lots of light. I was flexible on the location, as long as it was fairly central London.

Name: Emily Location: Brooklyn, New York The charming loft that my boyfriend and I have called home for the last three years may soon be a distant memory. As cookie cutter condos are popping up everywhere in our neighborhood of South Slope Brooklyn, we are on the precipice of our loft housed on the top floor of a century- old building being converted as well.

Name: Aletha Location: Grand Haven, Michigan We spent almost a year restoring unique details to our modest-in-size Mid Century Modern home in Grand Haven, Michigan. We had been house searching for a year, and were outbid on three other Mid Century properties before touring this home tucked away on a quiet street off the beaten path. When we pulled into the driveway, I knew it was the one we’d been looking for!

Name: Jennifer Location: Newbury Park, California Our home is a 1959 post and beam ranch home (1,143 square feet) on nearly one acre of horse property. We gutted 3/4 of the home, leaving original character such as open beam ceilings. The three bedroom home is now a two bedroom with a large open concept living space that works for us It’s very bright, rustic yet refined and eclectic all at the same time!

Name: Lauren & Breeze Location: The St. Roch Neighborhood — New Orleans, Louisiana It’s not very often that you hear about two friends buying a home together. In fact, most people would warn against the idea. But that’s exactly what my best friend, Breeze, and I did last May. We both were in love with the city of New Orleans. NOLA was pure magic for us. We had talked about buying a home, fixing it up and decorating it together. It was our dream.

Name: Sarah Location: Williamsburg — Brooklyn, New York Hello! I’m a chef and founder of Salt House, and I created the ultimate entertaining space and sanctuary in my small (around 600 square feet) Williamsburg apartment. I work and live in this space, so there’s a big dining room table that me and my team work on during the day and then use for dinner parties in the evenings! We can seat up to 20 people, believe it or not!

Name: Elizabeth Location: Luzern, Switzerland Our home is a 4 bedroom, Swiss loft apartment spread across two floors. It’s a fantastic open space with tons of exposed timber and bright light. Although it’s been very tempting to embrace an entire Alpine lodge feel, our years spent in Indonesia lend a very global touch to the decor.

Name: Rachel Location: Clinton Hill — Brooklyn, New York My husband and I moved into this cozy 600 square foot-ish apartment (1 bed/1 bath) nearly 3 years ago. After living with multiple roommates in Bushwick in my early 20s, the apartment initially felt luxuriously spacious…at least in my memory! Fast forward 2 1/2 years later, my appreciation and impression of our apartment is continually evolving.

Name: Kati Location: Rice Village — Houston, Texas One year ago, I packed my cat Boots and everything I owned into a minivan and moved from New York City to Houston, Texas to be with my boyfriend. We rented a great apartment in Rice Village – near a host of boutiques, restaurants, and bars. This was our first time living together, and we were excited to curate an apartment that reflected both of our personalities. We wanted a combination of clean lines and comfort.

Name: Hana Location: Crown Heights — Brooklyn, New York As an interior designer, there’s always a bit of anxiety as to how to decorate my home. My husband and I recently moved to Crown Heights from a Park Slope duplex. The main reason we were looking to move is because I was starting my business and planning to work from home, like my husband. We needed a home with enough rooms to house both of our work spaces.

Name: Emily and Zack Location: Fishtown —Philadelphia, Pennsylvania Back in June, my husband Zack and I made an unexpected decision: we left our two-bedroom apartment in the posh Rittenhouse Square neighborhood of downtown Philadelphia to call a one-bedroom Fishtown flat home. We weren’t planning on moving when our previous landlord approached us about renewing our lease for a third year. But as it goes, one conversation led to another, and we began itching for a new experience.

Name: Savannah, Mike, Finn the cat and Nori the 3-legged Pit bull Location: Verdun, Montreal, Quebec, Canada Our apartment is on the ground floor of a triplex in the ever-evolving neighbourhood of Verdun. We probably visited about 30 apartments in the area before falling in love with this one. We were looking for a place that was pretty spacious because we both work from home and would be spending the majority of our time in the space.

Name: Alexandra and Aaron, Hank the dog and Ben the cat Location: Slidell, Louisiana When I got a job as a meteorologist at a New Orleans television station, I was thrilled to move home to the vibrant and unique city where I grew up. Shortly after, my soon-to-be husband joined me from his hometown in Texas. He’s more of a small-town person and preferred to live a little removed from the city.

Name: Erika and Charl Location: Collingwood, Melbourne, Australia The space is very similar to both our offices, which personally makes me feel so comfortable in my day-to-day. We moved in with Charl’s dining table – a refurbished monastery window which my dad broke immediately trying to get it inside – we since restored it with a huge glass shower window, which I personally think has made it look even better; and his black leather couches, my cow hide, plus our various bits.

Name: Alex Location: Hell’s Kitchen – New York, New York My studio is a big, modern space in Hell’s Kitchen. My friend recommended that I decorate my place like a boutique hotel room. That became the blueprint the my whole style. I created a bedroom area with a Gus Modern wingback bed and a great print of an Airstream. A half rectangle, grey bookshelf separates the living room area without blocking the sight lines to the window.

Name: Lianna Location: Milwaukee, Wisconsin This condo building is in the Brewer’s Hill Neighborhood of Downtown Milwaukee. I fell in love with the condo from the moment I saw it. Packed with rich history, it used to be a shoe factory and was abandoned for years before it was re-purposed into condos. I love the cream city brick detail that is characteristic of this area and hard to find.

Name: Virginia Location: Maitland, Florida My husband, Garrett, and I live in an 816 sq ft condo that we rent in Maitland, Florida. What we loved most when Garrett first came to view the condo and continue to – is the incredible lake view we have from our living room window. We are on a gorgeous Central Florida lake and the sunrises can’t be beat. (Check out our #goodmorninglakemaitland !) The condo complex was built in the 1950s but our unit has been updated.

Name: Emily & Ian Location: Grand Rapids, Michigan Our house is old—about 120 years old! It is in Heritage Hill, which is one of the largest and oldest urban historical parks in the country. Living in an old house has some quirks—our stairs are super creaky and the windows are heavy and made gasping sounds in the winter, but overall we love all the little unique parts of the house and the neighborhood.

Name: Fernanda Location: Brasília, Brazil I have always been a design lover and always felt this was my talent, but I ended up graduating in journalism. One day in 2011, I was writing an article about affordable design with a work friend when we encountered the site (we did an interview with you guys). I became really obsessed with the house tours and did my own blog on house tours in my city (Brasília, Brazil) inspired by the Apartment Therapy idea.

Name: Hannah Location: Tupelo, Mississippi I am incredibly lucky to live in my great-grandparents home on the land that used to be our family farm. My house is a converted 4-square home that my grandmother, Rooney, was born in. We don’t know the exactly age of the home, but it was definitely built before 1936 (Rooney’s birth year.) My green little house is completely surround by a white picket fence and directly behind it is our family lake.

Location: Brooklyn, New York I live in Red Hook, Brooklyn. I have been in this apartment for 4 years. It is a small 2 bedroom apartment with a really good sized back yard. I live here with my 10 year old Golden Retriever, Duke. The negative of being on the ground floor in a flood zone is that I was flooded during Sandy. I have since re-built and am happy to be back! My style is modern & eclectic. I am an avid thrift store, flea market and craigslist shopper. I love mixing styles and patterns.

Name: Lauren and Shawn Location: Toronto, Ontario Lovers, builders, crafters and believers that a Shared Life is truly a beautiful thing, our latest home renovation was a basement conversions from a dark uninviting space to a beautiful and bright retreat that we are renting as a B&B. Each detail was daydreamed about, hunted for and brought together to create a space for our guests to truly unwind and indulge in.

Name: Ford and Hillary Location: Houston, Texas In 2011, when we were ready to buy a home, we chose a very affordable (ahem sketchy at the time) neighborhood knowing that things in the area were changing and it was only 2 miles from downtown Houston. We purchased a 1910-ish home that had been a rental for the last 20 years and paid $85,000 for it.

Location: Los Angeles, California Katie is a photographer and submitted some gorgeous photos of her friends Matt and Ellen’s home! From Katie: “Ellen has a brilliant design mind and works at Sugar Paper LA. Matt is a writer/director/actor. They just received their two foster kids – the most precious twin boys. I asked Ellen to answer a few questions about her home and this is what she said. . .” My husband Matt and I have lived in our home for a little over two years.

Name: Kristine Renee Location: Sacramento, California After spending a couple of years working in Southeast Asia, relocating to Sacramento, CA was a big transition. Home has always been my most treasured oasis and I knew that in order to be content with my new geography, I must create a space that reflected me; my travels, stories, studies and adventures.

Name: Karla Location: Menasha, Wisconsin My husband and I live in a 1400 sq. ft home of our dreams. Often, the running joke from friends is, “have you left your house this weekend?”. The reality is we love our home and it is hard to leave. We were fortunate enough to find an architect who listened to “we-are-on-a-very-tight-budget-can-you-really-make-this-happen?” and he did (thanks Matt!).

Name: Maria and Tristan Location: Chicago, Illinois My husband Tristan and I have shared this classic Chicago graystone apartment together for a little over 3 years. It is roughly 1,200 sq. ft. with 3 bedrooms and 1 bath, featuring a giant kitchen, and separate dining room. We moved here from a very small garden apartment with low ceilings and little light, so we instantly fell in love with the 12’ ceilings, giant windows, and nearly double the floor space.

Name: Eric Location: Philadelphia, Pennsylvania My place is a converted Bath House – Built at the end of the 19th century, It was part of the Philadelphia Baths Association until it’s closing in 1947. It was then a Glass manufacturing building until it was used for “local transient activities.” We are its first-ever tenants.

Name: Cat Location: Downtown Los Angeles, California My fiancé Alex and I live in the heart of DTLA’s historic core, a step away from all our favorite bars and restaurants. We love the excitement and bustling energy of this reviving community, but it’s nice being able to escape into our calm, monochromatic oasis. Our loft is less than 800 square feet in size but the high ceilings and large private outdoor terrace make the space feel airy and spacious.

Name: Joyce Location: Los Angeles, CA My little house is my ultimate happy place! I work in the interior design field so the aesthetic of my home and the state of my surroundings are very important to me. Before finding this little gem I was living in an apartment building and yearned for an entertainment space- somewhere that looked out into lush greenery. I couldn’t have gotten more lucky! It’s a bohemian wonderland with a porch that wraps around to reveal a romantic hammock.

Name: Carla Caruso Location: Ashfield, MA Size: 2,100 square feet Years lived in: 5 years; Owned Designer Carla Caruso, of Carla Caruso Jewelry, bought her home in the sleepy town of Ashfield, MA, five years ago. Nestled in the hilltowns of western Massachusetts, Carla embarked on a years-long renovation project, which she tackled largely on her own. The result is an eclectic and vibrant take on the New England farmhouse.

Name: Topaz Location: Downtown Wheaton, Illinois I work as an Art Director in the Chicagoland area and about two months ago moved into a gorgeous, half-basement nook. In the style of one of my favorite authors, L.M. Montgomery, I like to name my homes. However, accurately naming a home that is partially underground turned out to be more difficult than expected. After many word searches and some rather depressing synonym discoveries, I settled on “The Burrow.
